Eldorado Recording Studios LLC is one of the true studio survivors. Originally established under the name “Eldorado Recording Studio” in 1954 at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, the studio was created as a workshop
for Johnny Otis (whose classic hit "Willie And the Hand Jive" is still
heard today).
In
1987 the studio was forced to relocate due to damage the building sustained from
numerous earthquakes over the years. After a brief association with Track Record
Studio in North Hollywood, Eldorado took on its new life at Marvin Gaye's former
studio on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Eldorado participated in the recording
of many successful albums during this period between 1989 and 1996.
In
the summer of 1996 construction began on Eldorado's new home in Burbank,
which went "on line" in December of that year.
Eldorado
has a rich history, participating in many classic records from artist's such as Brian Eno, Talking Heads, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Herbie Hancock, Janes
Addiction, Social Distortion, Alice In Chains, and The Offspring’s “Americana”, certified at twenty million records sold worldwide. Most recently Eldorado is proud to have recorded and mixed the soundtrack and score for the movie “Rent” as well as new releases by Jewel, Ryan Cabrera, Tricky, Marc Broussard and My Chemical Romance (The Black Parade).
Eldorado
is a full service studio primarily dedicated to the production and recording of
rock albums. Having served as “home base” to producer Dave Jerden from 1981 to 2004, Eldorado now caters to a variety of top notch producers, engineers and artists. Rob Cavallo, Doug McKean, Marshall Altman, Joe Zook, Brian Dobbs, Jeff Saltzman, and Toby Wright to name but a few.
